Shelly 2.5 Device Smart Control - Roller Shutter Mode

Main Controls

Below the Main Controls heading, the Shelly Device power in Watts (W), and voltage in Volts (V).

Observe the open and close button at the bottom of this tab. Click the close button to move the roller shutter position down. Click the open button to move the roller shutter position upward.

Notifications

If you have Shelly Device notifications, they will appear on this tab. View the number of notifications for this Shelly Device. Click the X button in the top right corner of the notification box if you wish to delete the notification.

Charts

Consumption

Observe a chart with the Shelly Device consumption displayed in Watt-hours (Wh). Above the consumption chart, you can select the time interval and the date from which you want data to be shown. Drag your finger/mouse across the chart to view time specific consumption measurements. Click the blue icon to the right of the date interval, above the chart, and change the displayed chart style.

Below the consumption chart are a variety of Shelly Device measurements. Observe the Eco (compared) value that gives a percentage of how much lower the consumption value is, and the total consumption value in Watt-hours (Wh). Below these measurements, observe the average, maximum and minimum consumption in Watt-hours (Wh).

Click on the expand icon in the top right corner of the Consumption rectangular box if you wish to view the chart in full screen. Click the Export .csv button to download this data as a CSV file.

Activity Log

Observe the recorded history of the Shelly Device events. See the date, time and type of action executed such as roller movement.

Schedule

Click the Add schedule button to create a schedule. Create a weekly schedule for the day(s) and time(s) you want the corresponding device to turn On/Off automatically. You may add up to 20 weekly schedules. This function requires a working connection to the Internet.

  • Choose Weekday(s): Set the active dates by clicking on the desired date(s).

  • Choose Time Interval: Select Time, Sunrise / Sunset from the dropdown menu, and set the time for the previously selected day(s).

    • Time: Click up/down button, or type in a number, to set a time in hours and minutes.

    • Sunset / Sunrise: The Shelly device may turn on/off automatically at sunrise/sunset, or at a specified time Before/After Sunrise/Sunset. Select the time in hours and minutes from the dropdown menus.

  • Select Action: Set an action for the schedule to execute. Select one of the three actions:

    • Open: Fully open the roller.

    • Close: Fully close the roller.

    • Select position: If you select this action, click and drag the horizontal slider to set the target cover position. A percentage of 0 % corresponds to a fully closed position, and 100 % corresponds to a fully opened position. Observe the selected percentage position below the slider bar.

  • Click the Save button to save your schedule.

Once the schedule has been created, it will appear as a rectangular box on the main Schedule page for the Shelly Device. On this box, you can see the schedule details such as the days of the week, action and time. You can enable/disable a schedule by clicking the toggle button at the top of this page. You can edit the schedule by clicking on the edit pencil icon on the right, and delete the schedule by clicking the trash icon on the right.

Actions

Use events to trigger http endpoints. Add URLs to execute when actions are complete. Click the edit pencil icon of the action you wish to activate in order to add URLs.

Add URLs to the following actions:

  • Roller open

  • Roller close

  • Roller stop

Follow these steps to add URLs:

  • Click the edit pencil icon next to the action to which you wish to add URLs.

  • Click the + Add URL button and input up to 5 URLs to execute when the actions is complete. If you wish to delete a URL, delete it by clicking the trash icon to the right of it.

  • Click the Save button once you have added your URLs.

This function requires a working connection to the Internet. You can enable/disable an action by clicking toggle button to the left of the action box. You can edit the action by clicking on the edit pencil icon on the right.

Safety

Max Power Protection

Click the checkbox to enble custom Max power protection. Configure Shelly Device to turn off when power consumption reaches a set value in watts (W). Input a power range value between 0 W to 2300 W. Click the Save button to save any changes made.

Obstacle Detection

This feature allows the “roller” to stop or change direction if it encounters an obstacle while driving.

  • Click the checkbox to enable the obstacle detection functionality.

  • Obstacle Detection Mode: Select obstacle detection mode in order to set the moving direction of the roller. Choose one from the following options: While opening / While closing / While moving.

  • Obstacle Detection Action: Select action to perform when an obstacle is detected. Set the action as Stop / Reverse. If Stop is chosen, the roller will stop moving at when an obstacle is detected. If Reverse is chosen, the roller will be reversed until the endpoint is reached.

  • Obstacle Detection Threshold: Input the max power threshold value for obstacle detection. Input a value between 0 to 1840 Watts.

  • Obstacle Detection Delay: Input a value for delay of obstacle detection activation. Input a value between 0 to 1840.

Click the Save button to save any changes made.

Safety Switch

This function only works when the Input Buttons Configuration is set to One Button. Set up this function:

  • Click the checkbox to enable the Safety Switch functionality.

  • Safety Switch Mode: Select the moving direction. This sets the direction which the roller is moving when it could be interrupted by the safety switch. Choose one from the following options: While opening / While closing / While moving (in either direction).

  • Safety Switch Action: Set the action as Stop / Pause / Reverse.

    • Stop: If Stop is chosen, engaging the safety button will stop the roller movement until the safety switch is disengaged or until a command is sent by the physical button or the mobile application.

    • Pause: If Pause is chosen, engaging the safety button will momentarily paused the roller movement.

    • Reverse: If Reverse is chosen, engaging the safety button will stop and immediately reverse the movement until the end position is reached.

  • Allowed Move: Set the allowed move as None / Open / Close / All.

Click the Save button to save any changes made.

Favorite Positions

You are able to have up to 4 favorite roller shutter positions. For each favorite position:

  • Change the position name and input the desired roller position as a percentage. A percentage of 0 % corresponds to a fully closed position, and 100 % corresponds to a fully opened position.

  • Click the button located to the right of the position box to set the position value to the current position of the roller.

  • Click the Save button to save any changes made.

Networks

Wi-Fi

Register Shelly Device to connect to up to 2 different Wi-Fi networks. Either input or select the Wi-Fi network. Can select an open network, and also set a static IP address. Enable Wi-Fi 1, or Wi-Fi 2, or both at the same time. If both Wi-Fi 1 and Wi-Fi 2 are enabled, and Shelly Device disconnects from one of the networks, it will connect to the other. Click the Save button to save any changes made.

Access Point

Click the checkbox to enable this function. Enable to configure Shelly Device to create a Wi-Fi Access Point (AP), to which you can connect. Observe the SSID. Set a password to protect your device’s access point to secure your network from unauthorized access. Click the checkbox to set the AP it to be an open network. Click the Save button to save any changes made.

Wi-Fi AP Roaming

Click the checkbox to enable Wi-Fi AP roaming. Select an RSSI signal strength value from the dropdown menu. Choose a value between -50 and -90. Click the Save button to save any changes made.

Restrict Login

Click the checkbox to enable the Restrict Login function. If enabled, you can restrict the web interface of this Shelly Device with a username and password. Click the Save button to save any changes made.

Cloud

Click the toggle button to enable this function. Enable to connect the Shelly Device to its cloud. This allows you to control it remotely, and receive notifications and updates about your Shelly device.

Application Settings

Appliance Type

Appliance Types

Select the appliance type to which the Shelly Device is connected to. Choose one of the following from the following options:

  • Lighting

  • Entertainment

  • Heating/cooling

  • Refrigeration

  • Laundry & cleaning

  • Cooking

  • Pool and Garden

  • Electric vehicle

  • Ventilation

  • Water heater

  • Roller

  • Other

Generated Energy

Select the generated energy type. Choose from the following options:

  • Grid source

  • Generated energy

Click the Save button to save any changes made.

Consumption Calculation

Click the toggle button to enable exclusion of device from total room/account consumption.

Pin lock

Click the toggle button to enable Pin lock for this Shelly Device.

Exclude From Activity Log

Click the toggle button to exclude this Shelly Device from the global activity log.

Exclude From Forgotten Lights

Click the toggle button to disable “Forgotten Light Reminder” notifications and e-mails for this device. Exclude the Shelly Device from the “Forgotten Lights Reminder” if your device is designated as a “light” in the “Appliance type” setting.

Share

Input an email and share control of the Device with another Shelly Smart Control user. The other user will only have access to the Main Controls, Notifications, Charts, and Application Settings tabs, and the Device Information on the Settings tab. The other user cannot see the other device tabs. View which email accounts this Shelly Device has been shared with, and click the delete button to the right of the email account you would like to delete. If a device has been shared with your account, view which account shared the device with you, and click the Remove from my account button if you wish to delete it from your account.

Settings

Eco Mode

Click the toggle button to enable/disable Eco mode. Device will consume less energy and run at a lower temperature. Device will reboot if you disable/enable this function.

Operation Mode

Set the operation mode of the Shelly Device. Choose from the following:

  • Relay: This mode has ON and OFF states. This Relay mode is applicable for various appliances such as Lights, Socket, etc.

  • Roller Shutter: This mode is usable for different variants of Door and Window Rollers. It supports UP, DOWN, and STOP commands and provides different settings.

Click the Save button to save any changes made.

Power On Default

Choose the power on default from the following options:

  • Open: Configure Shelly Device to open when it has power.

  • Close: Configure Shelly Device to close when it has power.

  • Stop: Configure Shelly Device to stop when it has power.

Click the Save button to save any changes made.

Button Type

Choose the button type from the following options:

  • Momentary: Press Button 1 to OPEN and Button 2 to CLOSE.

  • Toggle: Press Button 1 to OPEN and press again to STOP. Press Button 2 to CLOSE and press again to STOP.

  • Detached Switch Mode: Set the switch to be separated from the relays.

  • Reverse Inputs: Click the checkbox if you wish to Reverse Inputs. If you enable this options, the buttons ON/OFF position will be inverted.

Click the Save button to save any changes made.

Open/Close Working Time

Set the open/close working time.

  • Input a value to configure the roller to automatically stop after a set number of seconds of opening. Input a value between 0 to 120 seconds.

  • Input a value to configure the roller to automatically stop after a set number of seconds of closing. Input a value between 0 to 120 seconds.

Click the Save button to save any changes made.

Ends Delay

Configure the roller to automatically stop after a set number of seconds. Input a value in seconds between 0 to 10000 seconds. Click the Save button to save any changes made.

Input Buttons Configuration

Configure the input buttons to one of the following options:

  • One button: Every time Button 1 is pressed, the roller will go to the next sequence step (Open/Stop/Close/Stop…).

  • Open & Close Buttons: Use separate buttons for OPEN and CLOSE.

Click the Save button to save any changes made.

LED Status Disable

Click the toggle button to disable Wi-Fi status LED.

Swap Inputs

Click the toggle button to enable this options. If enabled, the buttons Open/Close behavior will be swapped.

Reverse Directions

Click the toggle button to enable this option. Enable if the directions of movement do not match the directions in the interface.

Position Control

Click the checkbox to enable position control. Click the Save button to save any changes made. Click the Calibrate button to start the Shelly Device calibration.

Geo Location And Time Zone

Set your time zone and geo-location in one of three ways:

  • Select it manually by choosing your Time zone from the dropdown menu.

    • Set the Daylight saving time as on / off / auto.

    • Input the latitude and longitude.

  • Select your location from the map by clicking Select from map button.

  • Enable automatic detection by clicking the Auto detect location button. You may also click the checkbox at the top of this box to enable automatic detection.

Click the Save button to save any changes made.

Device Name

Change the current device name. This will reflect on the Shelly Device name in the application if the “Sync name” application setting is enabled. Click the toggle button to sync device name. Click the Save button to save any changes made.

Firmware Update

Shows your current firmware version. Click the Check for update button to check if a firmware updated is available. If a newer firmware version is available, you can update your Shelly device by clicking the Update button.

Factory Reset

Click the toggle button to enable factory reset from input. By enabling this setting, you can reset the Shelly Device from the device input.

Click the toggle button to enable factory reset by power cycle. By enabling this setting, you can reset the Shelly Device by 5 quick successive power cycles.

Click the toggle button to reset your Shelly Device from the device input. Reset your Shelly Device to its factory settings by clicking the Factory reset button. This will disconnect the Shelly Device from your Wi-Fi network, and all associated users, including you, will be removed from this Device. All previously set data will be deleted.

Device Reboot

Click the Reboot button to reboot your Shelly Device.

Device Information

Here you can view the Shelly Device ID, Device IP, and Device Type, and other device information. Click the clipboard icon to copy the desired information. Click the Delete button to delete this Shelly Device from your account.
