Shelly Wall Display Device Smart Control

Main Controls

Below the Main Controls heading, observe whether the output is on/off, the current room temperature, humidity as a percentage, and whether the room light status is bright or dark.

Above the power button is the room temperature chart of the last 24 hours. The red line indicates the maximum temperature at the specific time, while the blue line indicates the minimum temperature.

The power button is at the bottom of this tab. Click the power button to turn your device On/Off. Your device is on when there is a blue ring around the power button , and is off when the ring is gray.

Notifications

If you have Shelly Device notifications, they will appear on this tab. View the number of notifications for this Shelly Device. Click the X button in the top right corner of the notification box if you wish to delete the notification.

Charts

Temperature

Observe a chart of the room temperature, with the maximum and minimum temperatures. The blue line chart displays the minimum temperature. The red line chart displays the maximum temperature. Above the temperature chart, you can select the time interval and the date from which you want data to be shown. Drag your finger/mouse across the chart to view time specific temperature measurement. Click the blue icon to the right of the date interval, above the chart, and change the displayed chart style.

Click on the expand icon in the top right corner of the Temperature rectangular box if you wish to view the chart in full screen. Below the temperature chart, observe the average, maximum, and minimum temperature values in the specified time range. Below these values, you can click the Export .csv button to download the temperature data as a CSV file.

Humidity

Observe a chart with the room humidity. Above the humidity chart, you can select the time interval and the date from which you want data to be shown. Drag your finger/mouse across the chart to view the time specific humidity measurement. Click the blue icon to the right of the date interval, above the chart, and change the displayed chart style.

Click on the expand icon in the top right corner of the Humidity rectangular box if you wish to view the chart in full screen. Below the humidity chart, observe the average, maximum, and minimum humidity values in the specified time range. Below these values, you can click the Export .csv button to download the humidity data as a CSV file.

Activity log

Observe the recorded history of the Shelly Device events. See the date, time and type of action executed such as the Device being switched On/Off.

Timer

Allows you to manage the power supply automatically. You may use:

  • Auto on: After turning off, the relay output will be automatically turned on after a predefined time (in seconds). Click the Save button to save any changes made.

  • Auto off: After turning on, the relay output will be automatically turned off after a predefined time (in seconds). Click the Save button to save any changes made.

Schedule

Click the Add schedule button to create a schedule. Create a weekly schedule for the day(s) and time(s) you want the corresponding device to turn On/Off automatically. You may add up to 20 weekly schedules. This function requires a working connection to the Internet.

  • Choose Weekday.

    • Advanced Options: Click the dropdown arrow of Advanced Options to reveal more options.

      • Active dates: Set the active dates by clicking on the desired date(s). Click on More Options and select from a variety of options: Select even / Select odd / Select all / Clear. In addition, you can input the dates From and To you want to set as active dates, and click the Select button to choose these dates.

      • Active months: Set the active months by clicking on the desired month(s). Click on More Options and select form a variety of options: Select even / Select odd / Select all / Clear. In addition, you can input the months From and To you want to set as active months, and click the Select button to choose these months.

    • Click the NEXT button.

  • Choose Time Interval: Time, Sunrise / Sunset, or Advanced Options, and set the time for the previously selected day(s):

    • Time: Click up/down button, or type in a number, to set a time in hours and minutes.

    • Sunset / Sunrise: The Shelly device may turn on/off automatically at sunrise/sunset, or at a specified time Before/After Sunrise/Sunset. Select the time in hours and minutes from the dropdown menus.

    • Advanced Options:

      • Active minutes: Set the active minutes by clicking on the desired minute(s). Click on More Options and select form a variety of options: Select even / Select odd / Select all / Clear. In addition, you can input the minutes From and To you want to set as active minutes, and click the Select button to choose these minutes.

      • Active hours: Set the active hours by clicking on the desired hour(s). Click on More Options and select form a variety of options: Select even / Select odd / Select all / Clear. In addition, you can input the hours From and To you want to set as active hours, and click the Select button to choose these hours.

      • Active seconds: Set the active seconds by clicking on the desired second(s). Click on More Options and select form a variety of options: Select even / Select odd / Select all / Clear. In addition, you can input the seconds From and To you want to set as active seconds, and click the Select button to choose these seconds.

  • Select Action: Click the Add button to add up to 5 actions per schedule. Select Control Output / Toggle Output from the dropdown menu to set the type of local action. If Control Output is selected, set the action as On / Off. Click the checkbox to flip value after the set number of seconds, and input the number of seconds. Click the Save button to save the action. Once a schedule action has been created, click the trash icon to the right of it if you wish to delete it.

  • Click the Save button to save your schedule.

Once the schedule has been created, it will appear as a rectangular box on the main Schedule page for the Shelly Device. On this box, you can see the schedule details such as the days of the week, action and time. You can enable/disable a schedule by clicking the toggle button on the left of the schedule box. You can edit the schedule by clicking on the edit pencil icon on the right, and delete the schedule by clicking the trash icon on the right.

Sensor Settings

Temperature offset

Set the humidity offset by inputting a value between -50 and 50. Click the Save button to save any changes made.

Temperature Threshold

Input a value between 0.5 and 5 for the threshold temperature change which will cause the Device to wake up and trigger a sensor data report. Click the Save button to save any changes made.

Humidity offset

Set the humidity offset by inputting a value between -50 and 50. Click the Save button to save any changes made.

Humidity Threshold

Input a value for the threshold relative humidity change which will cause the Device to wake up and trigger a sensor data report. Input a value between 1 and 20. Click the Save button to save any changes made.

Dark Threshold

Input an illuminance threshold value below which the room illuminance will be considered “dark”. Click the Save button to save any changes made.

Bright Threshold

Input an illuminance threshold value below which the room illuminance will be considered “bright”. Click the Save button to save any changes made.

Actions

Use events to trigger http endpoints. You can add up to 20 web hooks. Set up the following settings, and navigate between pages by clicking the NEXT or BACK buttons. Click the Add action button to create a web hook:

  • Set Action Name: Type in action name.

  • Active Time: Click the checkbox to set an active time. You may leave as the 24-hour default option or choose an active start and end time. Click the up/down buttons, or type in a number, to set a time in hours and minutes.

  • When: Select from a variety of conditions for the button/switch. Some conditions may have additional settings to set up. Choose from the following conditions:

    • Switch on

    • Switch off

    • Input on

    • Input off

    • Input touch multi touch

    • Input touch swipe down

    • Input touch swipe up

    • Temperature change: This event is executed based on the configured threshold. Select the condition from the dropdown menu as Any / less than / greater than. If you select less than / greater than, then input the temperature below to set the condition.

    • Temperature measurement: This event is measurement based. The event is executed every 60 seconds, ignoring any threshold configuration. Select the condition from the dropdown menu as Any / less than / greater than. If you select less than / greater than, then input the temperature below to set the condition.

    • Humidity change: This event is executed based on the configured threshold. Select the condition from the dropdown menu as Any / less than / greater than. If you select less than / greater than, then input the humidity change value as a percentage below to set the condition.

    • Humidity measurement: This event is measurement based. The event is executed every 60 seconds, ignoring any threshold configuration. Select the condition from the dropdown menu as Any / less than / greater than. If you select less than / greater than, then input the humidity as a percentage below to set the condition.

    • Illuminance change: This event is executed based on the configured threshold. Select the condition from the dropdown menu as Any / less than / greater than. If you select less than / greater than, then input the value by which the illumination has changed beyond the configured dark/twilight/bright threshold.

    • Illuminance measurement: This event is measurement based. The event is executed every 60 seconds, ignoring any threshold configuration. Select the condition from the dropdown menu as Any / less than / greater than. If you select less than / greater than, then input the illuminance value measured, regardless of the configured threshold.

  • Actions: Input URL to send the Shelly Device a command. You may add up to 5 URLs per action, which will be executed one after the other. Click the + Add URL button to add another URL to execute, or click the + Add action from another device to add an action from another device. If you choose to add an action from another device, set it as a Control Output / Toggle Output local action, and set the action as On/Off. You may also add a local action.

    • Local Actions: Click the + Add local action button to configure a local action. Select Control Output / Toggle Output from the dropdown menu to set the type of local action. If Control Output is selected, set the action as On / Off. Click the checkbox to flip value after the set number of seconds, and input the number of seconds. Click the Save button to save the action.

    • Once the action has been created, click the trash icon to the right of it if you wish to delete it.

  • Click the Savebutton to save the web hook or to save any changes made.

This function requires a working connection to the Internet. Once the web hook has been created, it will appear as a rectangular box on the main Actions page for the Shelly Device. You can enable/disable an action by click the toggle button to the left of the action box. You can edit the action by clicking on the edit pencil icon on the right, and delete the action by clicking the trash icon on the right.

UI settings

Screen Saver

  • Click the checkbox to enable screensaver.

  • Set the screensaver timeout by inputting a value between 10 and 3600 seconds. Screen timeout is disabled while your device is used as a thermostat sensor.

  • Click the checkboxes of the following to show them on the screensaver display:

    • Show clock

    • Show temperature

    • Show humidity

  • Click the Save button to save any changes made.

Screen Lock

  • Set the screen lock as None / Home / Full.

  • Click the checkbox to disable gestures on locked display.

  • Click the Save button to save any changes made.

UI Settings

  • Click the corresponding checkboxes to show the following on the user interface (UI):

    • Show favorites

    • Show sensor graph.

  • Click the last checkbox to use Fahrenheit instead of Celsius.

  • Click the Savebutton to save any changes made.

Networks

Wi-Fi

Register Shelly Device to connect to up to 2 different Wi-Fi networks. Either input or select the Wi-Fi network. Can select an open network, and also set a static IP address. Enable Wi-Fi 1, or Wi-Fi 2, or both at the same time. If both Wi-Fi 1 and Wi-Fi 2 are enabled, and Shelly Device disconnects from one of the networks, it will connect to the other. Click the Savebutton to save any changes made.

Outbound Websocket

Click the checkbox to enable SSL connectivity. Select the type and input the server address you wish to connect your Shelly Device to. Click the Save button to save any changes made. Please note that changing this setting requires a device reboot.

Cloud

Click the toggle button to connect Shelly Device to its cloud. This allows you to control it remotely, and receive notifications and updates about your devices.

Bluetooth

Click the checkbox to enable Bluetooth. Click the toggle button to enable RPC. Click the toggle button to enable Bluetooth gateway.

MQTT

  • Click the checkbox to enable MQTT. Configure the Shelly Device to execute actions via MQTT. Please note changing the MQTT settings requires a device reboot.

  • Choose the connection type, choose from the following options:

    • RPC status notifications over MQTT

    • Generic status update over MQTT

    • SSL connectivity

  • Input the MQTT prefix, the desired server, and client ID.

  • Input the username and password.

  • Click the Save button to save any changes made.

Application settings

Pin Lock

Click the toggle button to enable and set a device pin lock.

Input State Display

Click the toggle button to add an input state identifier to the power button. Turn on indicator for the current status of the physical switch connected to Shelly Device. When enabled, a small line appears on the power button, below the power symbol . A red line indicates the physical switch is off, while a blue line indicates the physical switch is on.

Exclude From Activity Log

Click the toggle button to exclude this Shelly Device from the global activity log.

Exclude From Forgotten Lights

Click the toggle button to disable “Forgotten Light Reminder” notifications and e-mails for this device. Exclude the Shelly Device from the “Forgotten Lights Reminder” if your device is designated as a “light” in the “Appliance type” setting.

Share

Input an email and share control of the Device with another Shelly Smart Control user. The other user will only have access to the Main Controls, Notifications, Charts, and Application Settings tabs, and the Device Information on the Settings tab. The other user cannot see the other device tabs. View which email accounts this Shelly Device has been shared with, and click the delete button to the right of the email account you would like to delete. If a device has been shared with your account, view which account shared the device with you, and click the Remove from my account button if you wish to delete it from your account.

Settings

Device Name

Change the current device name. This will reflect on the Shelly Device name in the application if the “Sync name” application setting is enabled. Click the toggle button to sync device name. Click the Save button to save any changes made.

Input Type

Set the input as a Button/Switch. Click the Save button to save any changes made.

Enable Input

Click the toggle button to enable an input.

Invert Input

If enabled, the device will consider the input as on, while it is actually switched off and vice versa. Click the toggle button to enable this functionality.

Action on power on

  • On: Configure Shelly Device to Turn ON, when it has power.

  • Off: Configure Shelly Device to Turn OFF, when it has power.

  • Restore last: Configure Shelly Device to Restore the last mode it was in, when it has power.

Click the Save button to save any changes made.

Firmware Version

Shows your current firmware version. If a newer version is available, you can update your Shelly device by clicking the Update button. You can check for an update by clicking the Check for update button.

Geo Location And Time Zone

Set your time zone and geo-location in one of three ways:

  • Select it manually by choosing your Time zone from the dropdown menu.

  • Select your location from the map by clicking Select from map button.

  • Enable automatic detection by clicking the Auto detect location button.

Click the Save button to save any changes made.

Device Reboot

Click the Reboot button to reboot your Shelly Device.

Please make sure you want to fully reboot your Shelly Device. This may take up to 2 minutes. We recommend using Soft Reboot for faster results.

Soft Reboot

Click the Soft reboot button to soft reboot your Shelly device.

This essentially restarts the front-end application.

Factory Reset

Click the toggle button to enable factory reset from input. By enabling this setting, you can reset the Shelly Device from the device input.

Reset your Shelly Device to its factory settings by clicking the Factory reset button. This will disconnect the Shelly Device from your Wi-Fi network, and all associated users, including you, will be removed from this Device. All previously set data will be deleted.

Device Information

Here you can view the ID, IP and other settings of your device. Copy Device ID, Decimal ID, Device IP, and Device Type by clicking the copy icon to the right of each. Click the Delete button if you wish to remove the Shelly Device from your account.
