Shelly Motion Device Smart Control

Main Controls

Below the Main Controls heading, observe the last date and time motion was detected, Shelly Device battery as a percentage, and the light status of the room. At the bottom of this page, observe whether or not motion is being detected.

Event log

Observe the recorded history of the Shelly Device events. See the date, time, and whether or not motion has been detected. An icon of a stationary person indicates that motion was not detected, while an icon of a walking person indicates that motion was detected at the specified time.

Sensor settings

Illumination Definitions

Set illumination values for dark and dusk. Values must be between 0 and 100000.

Motion Settings

  • Enable/disable the motion sensor.

  • Set the blind time of the motion sensor in minutes (from 1 to 1440) after the last detected motion.

  • Select the sensor’s operating mode from the dropdown menu: Any / Dark / Twilight / Bright.

  • Input the number of consecutive movements (from 1 to 4) for the sensor to detect before reporting motion.

  • Set the motion detection threshold (from 1 to 256) using the slider. A lower value sets higher sensitivity. See motion detection percentage above of the slider as you move it.

Click the Save button to save any changes made.

Tamper Sensitivity

Set the temper alarm threshold (from 0 to 80) using the slider. See tamper alarm threshold percentage above of the slider as you move it. Click the Save button to save any changes made.

Sleep Time

Set the number of seconds for motion detection to pause. Click the Save button to save any changes made.

Schedule

Click the Add schedule button to create a schedule. Create a weekly schedule for the day(s) and time(s) you want the corresponding device to turn On/Off automatically. You may add up to 20 weekly schedules. This function requires a working connection to the Internet. Set up the following settings, and navigate between pages by clicking the NEXT or BACK buttons.

  • Select the day(s) of the week, and then click the NEXT button.

  • Choose time interval: Time, or Sunrise / Sunset.

  • Set the time for the specified day(s):

    • Time: Click up/down button, or type in a number, to set a time in hours and minutes.

    • Sunset / Sunrise: The Shelly device may turn on/off automatically at sunrise/sunset, or at a specified time Before/After Sunrise/Sunset. Select the time in hours and minutes from the dropdown menus.

  • Set the action: enable sensor / disable sensor.

  • Click the Save button.

Once the schedule has been created, it will appear as a rectangular box on the main Schedule page for the Shelly Device. On this box, you can see the schedule details such as the days of the week, action and time. You can enable/disable a schedule by click the checkbox on the left of the schedule box. You can edit the schedule by clicking on the edit pencil icon on the right, and delete the schedule by clicking the trash icon on the right.

Actions

Use events to trigger http endpoints. You can add up to 20 web hooks.

When motion is detected in any of the conditions below, the sensor will send a separate command when it disappears. The sensor will transmit a new movement after the blind time has elapsed after the last movement.

For each possible condition, check the checkbox to enable the condition. Click the edit icon, and input up to 5 URLs in order to trigger http endpoints. For each URL, set a start and end time for the web hook to be executed. Possible conditions are:

  • Motion detected

  • Motion detected in dark

  • Motion detected in twilight

  • Motion detected in bright

  • End of motion

  • Dark condition

  • Twilight condition

  • Bright condition

  • Tamper Alarm On

  • Tamper Alarm Off

Click the Quick actions button at the bottom of this tab. Set up the following settings, and navigate between pages by clicking the NEXT or BACK buttons. Create a quick action:

  • Devices:

    • Select up to 5 devices which will respond to motion action.

    • Select the type of device you wish to choose from the dropdown menu: light / relay.

    • Devices from each available room will appear. Click the checkbox of the device you wish to select.

  • Blind time: Select a blind time in minutes (from 1 to 10) after last detected motion. Select a blind time from the dropdown menu.

  • Quick actions: Select condition which will trigger action, choose from the following options:

    • Motion detected

    • Motion detected in dark

    • Motion detected in twilight

    • Motion detected in bright

    • Dark condition

    • Twilight condition

    • Bright condition

This function requires a working connection to the Internet. Once the web hook has been created, it will appear as a rectangular box on the main I/O actions page for the Shelly Device. You can enable/disable a schedule by clicking the checkbox to the left of the schedule box. You can edit the schedule by clicking on the edit pencil icon on the right, and delete the schedule by clicking the trash icon on the right.

Networks

Wi-Fi

Register Shelly Device to connect to a Wi-Fi network. Either input or select the Wi-Fi network. Can select an open network, and also set a static IP address.

Access Point

Enable to configure Shelly Device to create a Wi-Fi AP and you can connect to its network. Can also set it to be an open network.

Restrict login

Restrict the web interface of the Shelly Device with a username and password. Click the checkbox to enable this function. Click the APPLY button to apply changes made.

Application Settings

Exclude From Event Log

Do not show event log reports for this device in the app.

Sync Name

Keep the device name in sync with the name given in the app.

Share

Input an email and share control of the Device with another Shelly Cloud user. The other user will only have access to the Device's power button (on/off), and be able to see the Device Information. The other user cannot see the other device settings.

Settings

LED status disable

Enable/disable Wi-Fi status LED.

Firmware Update

Shows your current firmware version. If a newer version is available, you can update your Shelly device by clicking the Update button.

Geo Location And Time Zone

Set your time zone and geo-location in one of three ways:

  • Select it manually by choosing your Time zone from the dropdown menu.

  • Select your location from the map by clicking Select from map button.

  • Enable automatic detection by clicking the Auto detect location button.

Device Name

Change the current device name. This will reflect on the Shelly Device name in the application if the “Sync name” application setting is enabled.

Factory Reset

Reset your Shelly Device to its factory settings by clicking the Factory reset button. This will disconnect the Shelly Device from your Wi-Fi network, and all associated users, including you, will be removed from this Device. All previously set data will be deleted.

Device Reboot

Reboot your Shelly Device.

Device Information

Here you can view the Shelly Device ID, IP and other device settings.
