Shelly Motion Device Smart Control

Main Controls

Below the Main Controls heading, observe the last date and time motion was detected, Shelly Device battery as a percentage, and the light status of the room. At the bottom of this page, observe whether or not motion is being detected.

Notifications

If you have Shelly Device notifications, they will appear on this tab. View the number of notifications for this Shelly Device. Tap the X button in the top right corner of the notification box if you wish to delete the notification.

Activity log

Observe the recorded history of the Shelly Device events. See the date, time, and whether or not motion has been detected. An icon of a stationary person indicates that motion was not detected, while an icon of a walking person indicates that motion was detected at the specified time. Click the dropdown icon to reveal more information such as the Shelly Device battery, illumination and light status of the room at the specified date and time.

Sensor settings

Illumination Definitions

Set illumination values for dark and dusk. Values must be between 0 and 100000. Click the Save button to save any changes made.

Motion Settings

  • Click the checkbox to enable/disable the motion sensor.

  • Set the blind time of the motion sensor in minutes after the last detected motion. Input a value between 1 to 1440 minutes.

  • Select the sensor’s operating mode from the dropdown menu: Any / Dark / Twilight / Bright.

  • Input the number of consecutive movements for the sensor to detect before reporting motion. Input a number between 1 to 4.

  • Set the motion detection threshold (from 1 to 256) using the slider. A lower value sets higher sensitivity. See motion detection percentage above of the slider as you move it.

Click the Save button to save any changes made.

Tamper Sensitivity

Set the temper alarm threshold (from 0 to 80) by clicking and dragging the horizontal slider. View the tamper alarm threshold percentage above of the slider as you move it. Click the Save button to save any changes made.

Sleep Time

Set the number of seconds (between 0 and 80) to pause detection. Click the Save button to save any changes made.

Schedule

Click the Add schedule button to create a schedule. Create a weekly schedule for the day(s) and time(s) you want the corresponding device to turn On/Off automatically. You may add up to 20 weekly schedules. This function requires a working connection to the Internet. Set up the following settings, and navigate between pages by clicking the NEXT or BACK buttons.

  • Select the day(s) of the week, and then click the NEXT button.

  • Choose time interval: Time, or Sunrise / Sunset.

  • Set the time for the specified day(s):

    • Time: Click up/down button, or type in a number, to set a time in hours and minutes.

    • Sunset / Sunrise: The Shelly device may turn on/off automatically at sunrise/sunset, or at a specified time Before/After Sunrise/Sunset. Select the time in hours and minutes from the dropdown menus.

  • Set the action: enable sensor / disable sensor.

  • Click the Save button.

Once the schedule has been created, it will appear as a rectangular box on the main Schedule page for the Shelly Device. On this box, you can see the schedule details such as the days of the week, action and time. You can enable/disable a schedule by clicking the toggle button on the left of the schedule box. You can edit the schedule by clicking on the edit pencil icon on the right, and delete the schedule by clicking the trash icon on the right.

Actions

Use events to trigger http endpoints. Add URLs to execute when actions are complete. Click the edit pencil icon of the action you wish to activate in order to add URLs.

Add URLs to the following actions:

  • Motion detected

  • Motion detected in dark

  • Motion detected in twilight

  • Motion detected in bright

  • End of motion

  • Dark condition

  • Twilight condition

  • Bright condition

  • Tamper Alarm Enabled

  • Tamper Alarm Disabled

  • Sensor Reports

Follow these steps to add URLs:

  • Click the edit pencil icon next to the action to which you wish to add URLs.

  • Click the Add button and input a URL to execute when the actions is complete.

  • Start time: Click the up/down button, or type in a number, to set the time in hours and minutes.

  • End time: Click the up/down button, or type in a number, to set the time in hours and minutes.

  • Add URLs: Click the Add button to add up to 5 URLs per action, which will be executed one after the other. Click the trash icon if you wish to delete a URL. Set the Start/End time for each URL.

  • Click the Save button once you have added your URLs.

Click the Quick actions button at the bottom of this tab. Set up the following settings, and navigate between pages by clicking the NEXT or BACK buttons. Create a quick action:

  • Devices:

    • Select up to 5 devices which will respond to motion action.

    • Select the type of device you wish to choose from the dropdown menu: Light / Relay.

    • Devices from each available room will appear. Click the checkbox of the device you wish to select.

  • Blind time: Select a blind time in minutes after last detected motion. Select a blind time from the dropdown menu: 1 / 3 / 5 / 10.

  • Quick actions: Select condition which will trigger action, choose from the following options:

    • Motion detected

    • Motion detected in dark

    • Motion detected in twilight

    • Motion detected in bright

    • Dark condition

    • Twilight condition

    • Bright condition

    • Sensor Reports

This function requires a working connection to the Internet. Once the action has been created, it will appear as a rectangular box on the main Actions page for the Shelly Device. You can enable/disable an action by clicking toggle button to the left of the action box. You can edit the action by clicking on the edit pencil icon on the right.

Networks

Wi-Fi

Click the checkbox to enable Wi-Fi 1. Register Shelly Device to connect to a Wi-Fi network. Either input or select the Wi-Fi network. Click the checkbox to set the Wi-Fi as an open network. Click the checkbox if you wish to set a static IP address, and input the IP address, network mask, GW and DNS. Click the Save button to save any changes made.

Access Point

Click the checkbox to enable this function. Enable to configure Shelly Device to create a Wi-Fi Access Point (AP), to which you can connect. Observe the SSID. Set a password to protect your device’s access point to secure your network from unauthorized access. Click the checkbox to set the AP it to be an open network. Click the Save button to save any changes made.

Restrict login

Restrict the web interface of the Shelly Device with a username and password. Click the checkbox to enable this function. Click the Save button to save changes made.

Application Settings

Device Card Customization

You can customize both big and small parameter slots on your device’s card. After customization, changes apply everywhere that you see the device in the app. Click the Customize device card button to customize device card.

  • Choose to customize the Big Parameter Slot or Small Parameter Slot.

    • Big Parameter Slot:

      • Choose the slot as one of the following: None / Parameter.

      • If you choose the slot content as Parameter, select the parameter type from the dropdown menu.

      • View the preview below.

    • Small Parameter Slot:

      • View the list of Selected Parameters and Additonal Parameters.

      • Click the add + button to add the Available Parameters. If you wish to remove a parameter, click the subtract - button.

      • Click the move button, and drag and drop the parameter to the desired position under Selected Parameters.

      • View the preview below.

  • Click the Save button to save any changes made.

Exclude From Activity Log

Click the toggle button to exclude this Shelly Device from the global activity log.

Device Notifications

Click the toggle button next to each of the following notification types to enable them:

  • Enable device problem email notifications

  • Enable device problem push notifications.

  • Enable offline email notifications.

  • Enable offline push notifications.

  • Enable low battery email notifications.

  • Enable low battery push notifications.

Share

Input an email and share control of the Device with another Shelly Smart Control user. The other user will only have access to the Main Controls, Notifications, Charts, and Application Settings tabs, and the Device Information on the Settings tab. The other user cannot see the other device tabs. View which email accounts this Shelly Device has been shared with, and click the delete button to the right of the email account you would like to delete. If a device has been shared with your account, view which account shared the device with you, and click the Remove from my account button if you wish to delete it from your account.

Settings

LED status disable

Click the toggle button to enable/disable Wi-Fi status LED.

Firmware Version

Shows your current firmware version. Click the Check for update button to check if a firmware updated is available. If a newer firmware version is available, you can update your Shelly device by clicking the Update button.

Geo Location And Time Zone

Set your time zone and geo-location in one of three ways:

  • Select it manually by choosing your Time zone from the dropdown menu.

    • Set the Daylight saving time as on / off / auto.

    • Input your location Latitude and Longitude.

  • Select your location from the map by clicking Select from map button.

  • Enable automatic detection by clicking the Auto detect location button. You may also set automatic detection by clicking the checkbox at the top of this section.

Click the Save button to save any changes made.

Device Name

Change the current device name. Click the toggle button to sync device name. Keep the device name in sync with the name given in the application if the “Sync name” is enabled. The sync is only from the application to the device and not vice-verse. Click the Save button to save any changes made.

Factory Reset

Reset your Shelly Device to its factory settings by clicking the Factory reset button. This will disconnect the Shelly Device from your Wi-Fi network, and all associated users, including you, will be removed from this Device. All previously set data will be deleted.

Device Reboot

Click the Reboot button to reboot your Shelly Device.

Device Information

Here you can view the ID, IP and other settings of your device. Copy Device ID, Decimal ID, Device IP, and Device Type by clicking the copy icon to the right of each. Click the Delete button if you wish to remove this Shelly Device from your account.
