Shelly 3EM Device Smart Control

Main Controls

Across the top of this page, observe total power in Watts (W), and overall consumption in kilo-watt-hours (kWh).

Below the total measurements for the Shelly Device, observe measurements for Phase A, B, and C. For each phase, observe the power in Watts (W), overall consumption in kilo-watt-hours (kWh), voltage in Volts (V), current in Amps (A), and power factor (PF).

Below these measurements, observe a consumption chart, in Watt-hours (Wh), of the Shelly Device in the last 24 hours. The different colored line charts represent different phases (A, B or C).

The power button is at the bottom of this page. Click the power button to turn your device On/Off. Your device is on when there is a blue ring around the power button , and is off when the ring is gray.

Charts

Consumption

Observe a chart with the Shelly Device consumption displayed in Watt-hours (Wh) for each phase. Above the consumption chart, you can select the time interval and the date from which you want data to be shown. Click on the expand icon in the top right corner of the Consumption rectangular box if you wish to view the chart in full screen. Click the Export CSV button to download this data as a CSV file.

Voltage

Observe a chart with the Shelly Device maximum and minimum voltage displayed in Volts (V) for each phase. Above the voltage chart, you can select the time interval and the date from which you want data to be shown. Below the voltage chart are a variety of phase specific measurements. Observe the phase specific average voltage value in Volts (V), and the maximum and minimum voltage in Volts (V). Click on the expand icon in the top right corner of the Voltage rectangular box if you wish to view the chart in full screen. Click the Export CSV button to download this data as a CSV file.

Activity log

Observe the recorded history of the Shelly Device events. See the date, time and type of action executed such as the Device being switched On/Off.

Timer

Allows you to manage the power supply automatically. You may use:

  • Auto on: After turning off, the relay output will be automatically turned on after a predefined time (in seconds).

  • Auto off: After turning on, the relay output will be automatically turned off after a predefined time (in seconds).

Schedule

Click the Add schedule button to create a schedule. Create a weekly schedule for the day(s) and time(s) you want the corresponding device to turn On/Off automatically. You may add up to 20 weekly schedules. This function requires a working connection to the Internet.

  • Select the day(s) of the week.

    • Advanced Options: Click the downward arrow of Advanced Options to reveal more options.

      • Active dates: Set the active dates by clicking on the desired date(s). Click on More Options and select from a variety of options: Select even / Select odd / Select all / Clear. In addition, you can input the dates From and To you want to set as active dates, and click the Select button to choose these dates.

      • Active months: Set the active months by clicking on the desired month(s). Click on More Options and select form a variety of options: Select even / Select odd / Select all / Clear. In addition, you can input the months From and To you want to set as active months, and click the Select button to choose these months.

    • Click the NEXT button.

  • Choose time interval: Time, Sunrise / Sunset, Advanced Options, or Random, and set the time for the previously selected day(s):

    • Time: Click up/down button, or type in a number, to set a time in hours and minutes.

    • Sunset / Sunrise: The Shelly device may turn on/off automatically at sunrise/sunset, or at a specified time Before/After Sunrise/Sunset. Select the time in hours and minutes from the dropdown menus.

    • Advanced Options:

      • Active minutes: Set the active minutes by clicking on the desired minute(s). Click on More Options and select form a variety of options: Select even / Select odd / Select all / Clear. In addition, you can input the minutes From and To you want to set as active minutes, and click the Select button to choose these minutes.

      • Active hours: Set the active hours by clicking on the desired hour(s). Click on More Options and select form a variety of options: Select even / Select odd / Select all / Clear. In addition, you can input the hours From and To you want to set as active hours, and click the Select button to choose these hours.

      • Active seconds: Set the active seconds by clicking on the desired second(s). Click on More Options and select form a variety of options: Select even / Select odd / Select all / Clear. In addition, you can input the seconds From and To you want to set as active seconds, and click the Select button to choose these seconds.

    • Random: Once you have selected this option, input the number of times that the job will run. Click the up/down button, or type in a number, to set a time in hours and minutes for the start and end time.

  • Select action: Select Control Output / Toggle Output from the dropdown menu to set the type of local action. If Control Output is selected, set the action as On / Off. Select the target component from the dropdown menu. Click the checkbox to flip value after the set number of seconds, and input the number of seconds.

Once the schedule has been created, it will appear as a rectangular box on the main Schedule page for the Shelly Device. On this box, you can see the schedule details such as the days of the week, action and time. You can enable/disable a schedule by clicking the toggle button on the left of the schedule box. You can edit the schedule by clicking on the edit pencil icon on the right, and delete the schedule by clicking the trash icon on the right.

Actions

Use events to trigger http endpoints. For each possible condition, check the checkbox to enable the condition. Click the edit icon, and input up to 5 URLs in order to trigger http endpoints. For each URL, set a start and end time for the web hook to be executed. Possible conditions are:

  • Output on

  • Output off

  • Channel 1 Over power

  • Channel 1 Under power

  • Channel 2 Over power

  • Channel 2 Under power

  • Channel 3 Over power

  • Channel 3 Under power

  • Sum of all channels over power

  • Sum of all channels under power

This function requires a working connection to the Internet. Once the web hook has been created, it will appear as a rectangular box on the main I/O actions page for the Shelly Device. You can enable/disable a schedule by click the checkbox to the left of the schedule box. You can edit the schedule by clicking on the edit pencil icon on the right, and delete the schedule by clicking the trash icon on the right.

Networks

Wi-Fi

Register Shelly Device to connect to up to 2 different Wi-Fi networks. Either input or select the Wi-Fi network. Can select an open network, and also set a static IP address. Enable Wi-Fi 1, or Wi-Fi 2, or both at the same time. If both Wi-Fi 1 and Wi-Fi 2 are enabled, and Shelly Device disconnects from one of the networks, it will connect to the other. Click the APPLY button to apply changes made.

Access Point

Enable to configure Shelly Device to create a Wi-Fi AP and you can connect to its network. Can also set it to be an open network. Click the APPLY button to apply changes made.

Wi-Fi AP roaming

Click the checkbox to enable Wi-Fi AP roaming. Click the APPLY button to apply changes made.

Restrict login

Restrict the web interface of the Shelly Device with a username and password. Click the checkbox to enable this function. Click the APPLY button to apply changes made.

Cloud

Enable to connect Shelly Device to its cloud. This allows you to control it remotely, and receive notifications and updates about your devices. Click the APPLY button to apply changes made.

Safety

Customize max power protection for each phase (A, B, or C) separately. Click the checkbox to enable custom Max power protection. Input a value between 0 to 26000 Watts (W). Configure the Shelly Device to turn off when power consumption reaches the set value. Click the Save button to save changes made.

Application Settings

Appliance Type

Select the appliance type to which the Shelly Device is connected to. Choose one of the following from the dropdown menu: Lighting / Entertainment / Heating/cooling / Refrigeration / Laundry & cleaning / Cooking / Pool and Garden / Electric vehicle / Ventilation / Grid source / Solar source / Water heater / Roller / Other. Click the Save button to save any changes made.

Consumption Calculation

Click the checkbox to enable/disable exclusion of device from total room/account consumption. Click the APPLY button to apply any changes made.

Pin Lock

Enable/disable and set Shelly Device pin lock.

Sync Name

Keep the device name in sync with the name given in the app.

Exclude From Activity Log

Click the checkbox to disable event log reports for this device.

Share

Input an email and share control of the Device with another Shelly Cloud user. The other user will only have access to the Device's power button (on/off), and be able to see the Device Information. The other user cannot see the other device settings.

Settings

Eco Mode

Click the checkbox to enable/disable Eco mode. Device will consume less energy and run at a lower temperature. Device will reboot if you disable/enable this function.

Power on default:

  • On: Configure Shelly device to Turn ON, when it has power.

  • Off: Configure Shelly device to Turn OFF, when it has power.

  • Restore last: Configure Shelly device to Restore the last mode it was in, when it has power.

LED status disable

Click the checkbox to disable Wi-Fi status LED.

Transform Calibration

Calibrate the transformer. Please note, only use this option if you have to replace the current transformer with a new one (supported only for 120A transformers provided by the manufacturer).

  • Calibrate phase: Choose the phase you wish to calibrate from the dropdown menu.

  • Calibrate it from phase: Choose the phase from which you wish to calibrate the phase selected above from the dropdown menu.

  • Click the Calibrate button, or choose Factory calibration and click the Factory calibration button.

Range Extenders

Click the checkbox of the Phase for which you wish to have the phase range extender connected.

Neutral Current Mismatch

Observe if there is a neutral current mismatch.

Firmware Update

Shows your current firmware version. If a newer version is available, you can update your Shelly device by clicking the Update button.

Geo Location And Time Zone

Set your time zone and geo-location in one of three ways:

  • Select it manually by choosing your Time zone from the dropdown menu.

  • Select your location from the map by clicking Select from map button.

  • Enable automatic detection by clicking the Auto detect location button.

Device name

Change the current device name. This will reflect on the device name in the application if the “Sync name” application setting is enabled.

Channel name

Change the current channel name. This will reflect on the device name in the application if the “Sync name” application setting is enabled. Select the phase you wish to change the name of from the dropdown menu, and input the channel name.

Erase data

Click the Delete button to erase all data saved on this device.

Device Reboot

Reboot your Shelly Device.

Factory Reset

Reset your Shelly Device to its factory settings by clicking the Factory reset button. This will disconnect the Shelly Device from your Wi-Fi network, and all associated users, including you, will be removed from this Device. All previously set data will be deleted.

Device reboot

Click the Reboot button to reboot your Shelly Device.

Device Information

Here you can view the Shelly Device ID, IP and other device settings.
