Shelly 3EM Device Smart Control

Main Controls

Across the top of this page, observe total power in Watts (W), and overall consumption in Watt-hours (Wh). Below the total measurements, observe the neautral RMS, and A+B+C RMS measurements.

Below these measurements for the Shelly Device, observe phase specific measurements for phases A, B, and C. For each phase, observe the power in Watts (W), total returned power in Watts (W), overall cosumption in Watt-hours (Wh), voltage in Volts (V), current in Amps (A), and power factor (PF).

Below these measurements, observe a consumption chart, in Watt-hours (Wh), of the Shelly Device in the last 24 hours. The different colored line charts represent different phases (A, B or C).

The power button is at the bottom of this page. Click the power button to turn your device On/Off. Your device is on when there is a blue ring around the power button , and is off when the ring is gray.

Notifications

If you have Shelly Device notifications, they will appear on this tab. View the number of notifications for this Shelly Device. Click the X button in the top right corner of the notification box if you wish to delete the notification.

Charts

Consumption

Observe a chart with the Shelly Device consumption displayed in Watt-hours (Wh) for each phase (A, B, and C). Above the consumption chart, you can select the time interval and the date from which you want data to be shown. Drag your finger/mouse across the chart to view time specific consumption measurements. Click the blue icon to the right of the date interval, above the chart, and change the displayed chart style.

Below the consumption chart are a variety of Shelly Device measurements. Observe the total Eco (compared) value that gives a percentage of how much lower the consumption value is. In addition, also observe the total energy consumption value in Watt-hours (Wh), and the total returned value in Watt-hours (Wh).

Below device total measuremnts, observe the phase specific Eco (compared) value, total energy, average, maximum and minimum consumption in Watt-hours (Wh).

Click on the expand icon in the top right corner of the Consumption rectangular box if you wish to view the chart in full screen. Click the Export .csv button to download this data as a CSV file.

Voltage

Observe a chart with the Shelly Device maximum and minimum voltage displayed in Volts (V) for each phase (A, B, and C). Above the voltage chart, you can select the time interval and the date from which you want data to be shown.

Drag your finger/mouse across the chart to view time specific consumption measurements. Click the blue icon to the right of the date interval, above the chart, and change the displayed chart style. Below the voltage chart are a variety of phase specific measurements. Observe the phase specific average, maximum and minimum voltage in Volts (V).

Click on the expand icon in the top right corner of the Voltage rectangular box if you wish to view the chart in full screen. Click the Export .csv button to download this data as a CSV file.

Activity log

Observe the recorded history of the Shelly Device events. See the date, time and type of action executed such as the Device being switched On/Off.

Timer

Allows you to manage the power supply automatically. You may use:

  • Auto on: After turning off, the relay output will be automatically turned on after a predefined time (in seconds). Click the Save button to save any changes made.

  • Auto off: After turning on, the relay output will be automatically turned off after a predefined time (in seconds). Click the Save button to save any changes made.

Schedule

Click the Add schedule button to create a schedule. Create a weekly schedule for the day(s) and time(s) you want the Shelly Device to turn On/Off automatically. You may add up to 20 weekly schedules. Set up the following settings, and navigate between pages by clicking the Next or Back buttons.

  • Select the day(s) of the week.

  • Choose time interval: Time, or Sunrise / Sunset, and set the time for the specified day(s):

    • Time: Click up/down button, or type in a number, to set a time in hours and minutes.

    • Sunset / Sunrise: The Shelly device may turn on/off automatically at sunrise/sunset, or at a specified time Before/After Sunrise/Sunset. Select the time in hours and minutes from the dropdown menus.

  • Select action: Set the action as on / off.

  • Click the Save button to save the schedule.

Once the schedule has been created, it will appear as a rectangular box on the main Schedule page for the Shelly Device. On this box, you can see the schedule details such as the days of the week, action and time. You can enable/disable schedules by clicking the toggle button at the top of this page. You can edit the schedule by clicking on the edit pencil icon on the right, and delete the schedule by clicking the trash icon on the right. Please note this function requires a working connection to the Internet.

Actions

Use events to trigger http endpoints. Add URLs to execute when actions are complete. Click the edit pencil icon of the action you wish to activate in order to add URLs.

Add URLs to the following actions:

  • Output on

  • Output off

  • Channel 1 Over power

  • Channel 1 Under power

  • Neutral current mismatch

  • Channel 2 Over power

  • Channel 2 Under power

  • Channel 3 Over power

  • Channel 3 Under power

  • Sum of all channels over power

  • Sum of all channels under power

Follow these steps to add URLs:

  • Click the edit pencil icon next to the action to which you wish to add URLs.

  • Add URLs: Click the + Add URL button to add up to 5 URLs per action, which will be executed one after the other. Click the trash icon if you wish to delete a URL.

  • Some of these conditions require you to set a “When over power” or “When under power” condition, which will cause the URLs to be executed when the power is over/under threshold value.

  • Click the Save button once you have added your URLs.

Enable/disable an action by clicking the toggle button to the left of the action box. You can edit the action by clicking on the edit pencil icon on the right. Please note that more than 2 actions can affect the normal operation of the device depending on the network infrastructure and the controlled devices.

Networks

Wi-Fi

Register Shelly Device to connect to up to 2 different Wi-Fi networks. Either input or select the Wi-Fi network. Can select an open network, and also set a static IP address. Enable Wi-Fi 1, or Wi-Fi 2, or both at the same time. If both Wi-Fi 1 and Wi-Fi 2 are enabled, and Shelly Device disconnects from one of the networks, it will connect to the other. Click the Save button to save any changes made.

Access Point

Click the checkbox to enable this function. Enable to configure Shelly Device to create a Wi-Fi Access Point (AP), to which you can connect. Observe the SSID. Set a password to protect your device’s access point to secure your network from unauthorized access. Click the checkbox to set the AP it to be an open network. Click the Save button to save any changes made.

Wi-Fi AP roaming

Click the Enable checkbox. Set the RSSI signal strength value below which the device will periodically scan for a better access point. Set a value between -50 to -90. Click the Save button to save any changes made.

Restrict login

Restrict the web interface of the Shelly Device with a username and password. Click the checkbox to enable this function. Click the Save button to save any changes made.

Cloud

Click the toggle button to enable Cloud connection. Enable to connect Shelly Device to its cloud. This allows you to control the Shelly Device remotely, and receive notifications and updates about your devices.

Safety

Customize max power protection for each phase (A, B, or C) separately:

  • Click the checkbox to enable custom Max power protection for each phase.

  • Input a value between 0 to 26000 Watts (W).

  • Configure the Shelly Device to turn off when power consumption reaches the set value.

  • Click the Save button to save changes made.

Application Settings

Appliance Type

Appliance Types

Select the appliance type to which the Shelly Device is connected to. Choose one of the following from the following options:

  • Lighting

  • Entertainment

  • Heating/cooling

  • Refrigeration

  • Laundry & cleaning

  • Cooking

  • Pool and Garden

  • Electric vehicle

  • Ventilation

  • Water heater

  • Roller

  • Other

Generated Energy

Select the generated energy type. Choose from the following options:

  • Grid source

  • Generated energy

Click the Save button to save any changes made.

Consumption Calculation

Enable/disable exclusion of device from total room/account consumption by clicking the toggle button. Click the toggle button to use the Shelly Device to record peak consumption.

Pin Lock

Click the toggle button to enable pin lock.

Exclude From Activity Log

Click the toggle button to exclude this Shelly Device from the global activity log.

Share

Input an email and share control of the Device with another Shelly Smart Control user. The other user will only have access to the Main Controls, Notifications, Charts, and Application Settings tabs, and the Device Information on the Settings tab. The other user cannot see the other device tabs. View which email accounts this Shelly Device has been shared with, and click the delete button to the right of the email account you would like to delete. If a device has been shared with your account, view which account shared the device with you, and click the Remove from my account button if you wish to delete it from your account.

Settings

Eco Mode

Click the toggle button to enable/disable Eco mode. Device will consume less energy and run at a lower temperature. Device will reboot if you disable/enable this function.

Consumption Indicator

  • Select the consumption indicator from the dropdown menu:

    • Disable

    • Active Power (P, 1000 imp/kWh)

    • Apparent Power (S, 1000 imp/kWh)

  • Select the desired phase(s) from the following options:

    • From phase all

    • From phase A

    • From phase B

    • From phase C

  • Click the Save buttont to save any changes made.

Power on Default:

  • On: Configure Shelly device to Turn ON, when it has power.

  • Off: Configure Shelly device to Turn OFF, when it has power.

  • Restore last: Configure Shelly device to Restore the last mode it was in, when it has power.

Click the Save buttont to save any changes made.

LED Status Disable

Click the toggle button to disable Wi-Fi status LED.

Transform Calibration

Calibrate the transformer. Please note, only use this option if you have to replace the current transformer with a new one (supported only for 120A transformers provided by the manufacturer).

  • Calibrate phase: Choose the phase you wish to calibrate from the dropdown menu.

  • From phase: Choose the phase from which you wish to calibrate the phase selected above from the dropdown menu.

  • Click the Calibrate button, or choose Factory calibration and click the Factory calibration button.

Range Extenders

Click the checkbox of the Phase for which you wish to have the phase range extender connected.

Neutral Current Mismatch

Set the neutral average RMS mismatch threshold. Click the Save button to save any changes made.

Device Card Customization

You can customize both big and small parameter slots on your device’s card. After customization, changes apply everywhere that you see the device in the app. Click the Customize device card button to customize device card.

  • Choose to customize the Big Parameter Slot or Small Parameter Slot.

    • Big Parameter Slot:

      • Choose the slot as one of the following: None / Action / Parameter.

      • If you choose the slot content as Parameter, select the parameter type from the dropdown menu.

      • View the preview below.

    • Small Parameter Slot:

      • View the list of Selected Parameters and Additonal Parameters.

      • Click the add + button to add the Available Parameters. If you wish to remove a parameter, click the subtract - button.

      • Click the move button, and drag and drop the parameter to the desired position under Selected Parameters.

      • View the preview below.

  • Click the Save button to save any changes made.

Firmware Version

Shows your current firmware version. Click the Check for update button to check if a firmware updated is available. If a newer firmware version is available, you can update your Shelly device by clicking the Update button.

Geo Location And Time Zone

Set your time zone and geo-location in one of three ways:

  • Select it manually by choosing your Time zone from the dropdown menu.

    • Set the daylight saving as on / off / auto.

    • Input your location Latitude and Longitude.

  • Select your location from the map by clicking Select from map button.

  • Enable automatic detection by clicking the Auto detect location button. You may also set automatic detection by clicking the checkbox at the top of this section.

Click the Save button to save any changes made.

Device Name

Change the current device name. This will reflect on the Shelly Device name in the application if the “Sync name” application setting is enabled. Click the toggle button to sync device name. Click the Save button to save any changes made.

Channel Name

Change the current channel name. This will reflect on the channel name in the settings. Select the phase you wish to change the name of from the dropdown menu, and input the channel name. Click the Save button to save any changes made.

Erase data

Click the Delete button to erase all data saved on this device.

Factory Reset

Click the toggle button to enable factory reset by power cycle. By enabling this setting you cna reset the device by 5 quick successive power cycles.

Reset your Shelly Device to its factory settings by clicking the Factory reset button. This will disconnect the Shelly Device from your Wi-Fi network, and all associated users, including you, will be removed from this Device. All previously set data will be deleted.

Device reboot

Click the Reboot button to reboot your Shelly Device.

Device Information

Here you can view the Shelly Device ID, Device IP, and Device Type, and other device information. Click the clipboard icon to copy the desired information. Click the Delete button to delete this Shelly Device from your account.
